There are two hypotheses for the appearance of Brendo. There is no figure in the Bulgarian underground that can be compared to Brendo.

„Several times Brendo has been dropped – 2005, 2007, 2008. Impressive in terms of efficiency. There is a refusal to surrender to Romania. He was acquitted on appeal in 2014. Then he was released and the possibility arose that he would disappear, he commented.
„His appearance shows that he has chosen what to do. People who have an impression of it, it is a well calculated effort. There is a hypothesis that he is guarding against revenge. The other thesis is that it puts the Bulgarian court in a situation to interpret how the sentences in Italy and Romania should lie and be shortened. It's probably overthought. The very fact that he is twice seeking such a decision before the court gives grounds for such an interpretation," comments Tihomir Bezlov.
„It has become a tradition for them to return”, he also said, recalling the cases with Vasil Bozhkov and Angel Hristov, known as Gele from the Galevi Brothers.
