With today's decision, the Constitutional Court practically torpedoed the judicial reform. Such an opinion was expressed on NOVA NEWS by political scientist Assoc. Petar Cholakov.
According to him, the court's decision not to limit the power of the so-called “three big“ in the judicial system (the chief prosecutor, the president of the Supreme Court of Cassation and the president of the Supreme Administrative Court) is not in favor of the public interest.
And here the question arises as to who benefits from not limiting the power of the chief prosecutor, asked Assoc. Cholakov.
Regarding the other decision of the constitutional judges not to return the official offices to the field of the president's powers, the political scientist commented that this was “expected”.
I said some time ago that the powers of the president will remain reduced, because otherwise this would mean that the acts of the current caretaker government would become invalid, so this decision of the Constitutional Court was expected, commented Petar Cholakov.
