There is no one to be angry with as of today," comments former Speaker of the National Assembly Iva Miteva on "The Day ON AIR".
In her words, the Constitutional Court should not be politicized, but it should be attended by people with high morals and professionals who will protect the Constitution.
"In 2015, the judicial reform, again amending the Constitution, Hristo Ivanov left the coalition, when his proposal to change the term of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) from 5 to 4 years was not accepted. The second was that when choosing the prosecutor's quota, that of the National Assembly should prevail. Now the same mistake is being made. Borisov outplayed them and got what he wanted. According to Miteva, if the Constitution was made with heart, it had to be changed with reason and patience. " We did not see such. We saw a desire to make the changes because we promised them," she emphasized.
"It is as if they have taught a lesson to "Change", which discourages us all. We all crave an independent judiciary. This decision gives us no more hope today. Let's reflect on what has been done so far and build a bridge between everyone in the National Assembly. Let's not create the image of the eternal enemy, let's really start making reforms", appealed Iva Miteva.
