Academician Nikolay Denkov: The war between oligarchs creates political instability - 1

"Political instability is only an external manifestation of the war between oligarchs clans and those who rule the conquered country in their struggle for influence. We can eventually manage with GERB, but we cannot go back in 2020, as Borisov and Peevski want. If someone harbors illusions that PP will support Borisov's GERB - let's return to this system in which the portions are distributed, which is close to the power of the oligarchs, this will not happen with PP's participation.

This was stated before the BNR by Academician Nikolay Denkov from PP-DB.

"The others are either part of this conquered state or want to join it.

We want to remove this model.

There is no way to solve the political case - to form a regular government, if the problem of this war between oligarchic circles is not solved. This war between oligarchs creates political instability. "Political instability is not created by politicians, but by mafias," he categorically stated.

According to him, Peevski is starting to lose ground under his feet:

"He hasn't figured it out yet, but that's the process that's happening. He will lose this political battle. At some point, he will also leave the parliament. This process will also be transferred to GERB. It is in the interest of GERB to solve the problem as soon as possible, so that the state can become manageable," the former prime minister pointed out.

Peevski is the biggest evil in the political system

and it must be separated if we want to move forward, Academician Denkov repeated again. According to him, Peevski is the person who abuses the power he has in the various institutions.

In his words, Peevski's success is largely due to his symbiosis with Borisov. Until it is separated from the political system in Bulgaria, we cannot move forward, he believes.

"If we solve the problem with the justice system, Bulgaria can move forward very quickly. Until we remove these pieces from the transition, we will box in one place. We have to solve this problem", stressed Nikolay Denkov in an interview for the program "Sunday 150".

According to him, Delyan Peevski has great influence on the leadership and the parliamentary group of GERB. The change in the DPS and the release of part of the control over the DPS by Peevski will be transferred to other parties as well, he was categorical and explained:

"Peevski will want to compensate for this loss of influence in the DPS by increasing his influence in other parties. BSP is one of them. GERB is the other party on which he will try to increase his influence. The clash in GERB between the people who will listen more to Peevski and those who would like to continue as a European party forward - this clash is inevitable. It is interesting to see how Borisov will position himself.

There is no clear winner from the last election, and there won't be any in this election,

Nikolai Denkov expressed his opinion. According to him, no one will agree to Borissov standing at the head of the state. According to him, Borisov's recipe is to have no government. And the PP-DB again propose negotiations and the search for a prime minister who will be trusted:

"The recipe that says - either this or nothing else - doesn't work. Labels are very easy to apply. The truth is that during these years we are the ones who managed to form governments, budgets, set an economic policy and raised incomes".

Our goal is to restore people's trust, declared the former Prime Minister from PP-DB. It is important for them that process in which people felt deceived by the assembly - it was a loss of trust, we have to tell them again why we are the policy and restore their trust. It is a process that will take time, he added.

The politician emphasized that at the moment the new interior minister has replaced only two regional directors. About 15 others, however, are those that Kalin Stoyanov put, he added. I expect to see if the minister will be able to appoint people who are ready to throw themselves into this battle or if they will bow down and wait for these elections to pass, Denkov said.

According to him, there is no ethnic tension in the country: "All the people I contact say that there is no reason for such tension.

However, according to him, the people are not well represented either by DPS or GERB. They are looking for their representation, he believes.

According to him, the programs have everything that is important for people in each of the sectors. The question is whether we can realize them, Academician Denkov pointed out. According to him, GERB stubbornly and systematically refuses to work on the topic related to the fight against corruption.

"The question is not whether we know what to do, but how to do it, including the fight against corruption, which blocks many of the possible solutions.

Part of these bills were prepared last year.

For example, the rules for electing members of the anti-corruption commission are from October 2023 in the National Assembly. GERB refuses to work on them. They are afraid that if a change is actually made in these systems, they may find themselves under the blows of the relevant investigations.

In the campaign PP-DB also focuses on other topics - care for young people, families, children. The focus of our campaign will be how to take care of Bulgaria's future, the PP-DB representative pointed out and added: "We will talk and work in this campaign about something that directly interests people - how to live better in Bulgaria." ;.

For now, Bulgaria is not an ungovernable country, Academician Nikolay Denkov was categorical. According to him, there is no economic crisis in Bulgaria, because these 4 years Bulgaria has had the best economic indicators since it entered the EU. The political crisis is still manageable, he believes, and warned: "However, if the political crisis is transferred to an economic one, this could have severe consequences.

Economically, we are fine because after Borisov's administration was replaced, the economic policy was changed, explained the former prime minister, according to whom Asen Vassilev's budgets have a completely different philosophy.

"It all paid off.

Last year was a record year for investments. If we don't solve the political crisis, then it will turn into an economic one and it can become scary.

Nikolai Denkov emphasized that it is important for the government, the CEC, and the courts to fulfill their commitments flawlessly, so that there is no basis for dispute.
