Almost the entire center of Sofia is closed to cars, as part of the celebration of the European Mobility Week. Until 8:00 p.m. this evening, the capital's "Alexander Stamboliyski" Blvd., in its part from "St. Sunday" next to "Hristo Botev" Blvd., is an entertainment area.
Stolichians, however, are not unanimous in their opinions about the lack of cars in the center.
They are informed that within 7 years Sofia will have its own green ring: "The green ring is a concept for a linear park that is 30 km long and will connect over 30 residential districts in Sofia, will create a connection between the existing parks of Sofia and will activate the spaces along the rivers".
Stolichians, together with their children, can ride trams in a special simulation cabin and see models made by a 14-year-old fan of public transport, as he presents himself.
Sofians can also measure their blood sugar and blood pressure for free: "We offer these tests in order to show how dirty air in cities affects the endocrine system, the cardiovascular system and, of course, the respiratory system".
And the bravest took part in a cycling race with a start and finish at the "Vasil Levski" stadium.
