The parliament was insulted with hooliganism - pulling cables, breaking loudspeakers, pushing deputies. The co-chairman of "We continue the change" commented this to journalists in the parliament. Kiril Petkov for the last plenary session of the 50th National Assembly before the start of the election campaign, BTA reported.
Petkov, together with Asen Vasilev and Nikolay Denkov, stated that from the parliamentary group of "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" support the proposed draft decision on changes to the Recovery and Sustainability Plan (RPS) with proponents Delyan Dobrev from GERB-SDS and Stanislav Anastasov from DPS, because Bulgaria needs this money and especially the Bulgarian miners. Petkov stated that they have chosen to support the Recovery and Resilience Plan. These are the European funds for which we have been fighting for eight months, he added.
We have seen people who have no arguments destroy the parliament. When they ran out of arguments, they started throwing a sledgehammer at the microphone of the parliament from the rostrum, pulling the cables and smashing them, commented Asen Vasilev. He pointed out that a year ago this program was prepared and then it passed through the parliament with certain defects, because then, according to Vassilev, GERB were careful not to lose the miners' vote.
Now, one year later, they came to their senses and said that it should be accepted because September 30, 2024 is the deadline for us to request over 500 million euros for the Bulgarian energy sector, Vassilev pointed out and added that it is normal to escalate after this is done on the last day of the parliament, by force. It's normal for this to escalate, because that's not how it's done, because we had a year for it to happen the normal way, he added.
The chairman of the parliamentary group of PP-DB Nikolay Denkov stated that the changes in energy are happening and will happen, as it is all over the world. Bulgaria should stay at levels of the 50s years of the last century and expect to be competitive, there is no way it will happen, Denkov pointed out and noted that people need the funds under PVU.
Now the changes will happen again, but people will not have money and this will be thanks to the "Revival" and ITN, he stated. So in two, three, six months, when there is not enough money for the miners – you know it's because of what happened today, he added.
