More than BGN 2,150,000 were received funds from penalties under the Road Traffic Act for the period September 20-26, the Ministry of the Interior announced.

A total of 183 drivers who got behind the wheel after drinking alcohol were identified within the past week. Of these, 93 people drove after using alcohol from 0.5 to 1.2 per thousand and 90 - with more than 1.2 per 1000, and 24 refused testing. 71 drivers were found to be driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, 30 refused to be tested, added the Ministry of the Interior.

For the period from September 20 to 26, within the framework of the Specialized Police Operation, 91,909 motor vehicles were checked, the Ministry of the Interior informed, quoted by BTA. 106,265 drivers and passengers were checked. 25,948 slips and 5,205 acts for established administrative violations were drawn up.

For the last 24 hours, a total of 25 drivers have been identified who got behind the wheel after consuming alcohol. Of these, 13 drove after consuming alcohol from 0.5 to 1.2 parts per thousand, and 12 - with more than 1.2 per 1000, four refused testing. 11 drivers were found to be driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, six refused testing.

As part of the Specialized Police Operation, 13,288 motor vehicles were checked. 14,999 drivers and passengers were checked. 3591 slips and 752 acts for established administrative violations were drawn up.

Three people died and 32 were injured in 30 serious accidents in the country over the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on the ministry's website.

Four serious and 29 light traffic accidents were registered in Sofia, in which five people were injured.
