Cars confiscated from people with positive tests for alcohol and drugs are “ occupied” the parking spaces of those living in the metropolitan district “Drujba” on Thursday. Residents could not move normally on the sidewalks. And the police do not have a designated place to store them.

In front of the 8th District Office on Friday morning, the woman who sent the alert to NOVA said that the sidewalk was impassable on Thursday. “Until yesterday, it was a little hell for everyone living in the neighborhood. Miracles do not only happen at Christmas, however, you can see how it looks, our neighborhood is beautiful and now it is as it was before the adopted law”, pointed out Shukadarova.
The mayor of the “Iskar“ Yasen Rusev stressed that the moving of the cars happened with the hard work of the regional administration and the police. “What is happening in front of all the regional administrations in Sofia is truly unacceptable. As a citizen, I have always maintained that the law is correct, but when the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, heart attacks occur, he pointed out.
„I have no idea where the cars are, but they are in a safe place where they will be kept,” added Rusev.
The Metropolitan Municipality is adamant that funding has been secured and a parking lot will be built for the seized cars.
