Hristo Gadjev: PP should ask Asen Vassilev if he asked for a commission from the order for scanners for customs - BGNES - 1

Yesterday, the former director of the "Customs" Agency In her testimony before the court, Petya Bankova named the then Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Asen Vassilev as the person who staffed the "Customs" agency.

"There is another scandal buried in Petya Bankova's testimony:

In September, Martin Dimitrov and Bozhidar Bojanov raised the issue of a "serious scandal with BGN 100 million of European funds for the purchase of reliable scanners for Bulgarian customs." According to them, "The winner was selected without an open procedure and tender, regardless of the requirements of the EC and an express decree of the Supreme Court." Again, according to them, this will have a detrimental effect on our acceptance in the overland Schengen.

This is what he wrote on his "Facebook" Hristo Gadjev from GERB-SDS.

"It is clear from Bankova's testimony that this is happening on the express instructions of Asen Vassilev:

"Asen Vassilev had found a way to do this directly from the company “Smiths Detection”, which manufacture scanners for inspection. His idea was to do it through direct negotiation, to finance it with money from the budget, bypassing the PLO. He had hired consultants to tell him exactly how to do it. Through this, Asen Vasilev aimed to receive a commission from the company “Smiths Detection”, as the order involved millions. He wanted me to give this company access to all the places where these scanners were to be placed, and the necessary information about it. I don't know what happened because I was detained in this case."

Colleagues have correctly raised the issue, but they have not hit the target. They should ask their coalition partner PP.

And the Ministry of Finance owes answers", Gadjev also writes.

BGNES recalls that yesterday the former director of the "Customs" Agency In her testimony before the court, Petya Bankova named the then Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Asen Vasilev as the person who staffed the "Customs" agency. This became clear from Bankova's testimony before the investigators in the case. In it, she is charged as a member of a criminal gang for cigarette smuggling and official crimes together with the former Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Zhivko Kotsev, Petar Subev from the Border Police, Nikola Nikolov-Paskal, who is hiding in Serbia, Marin Dimitrov and his son Stefan.< /p>

Bankova's testimony was disclosed before the Sofia Court of Appeal, where Stefan Dimitrov wanted to be released from custody. He has been there since the beginning of April, when the group was broken up, recalls "24 hours". Bankova testified days before the court released her from custody to undergo treatment. Prosecutors also wanted her released, and magistrates said she had cooperated with the investigation.

Stefan Dimitrov became famous mostly for those pictures of the poodle with the tufts. His lawyer - Ivo Naydenov, referred to Bankova's testimony about Asen Vasilev as an argument that his client did not frame the customs, which is one of his accusations. However, the court cited witnesses who described Dimitrov as a person with a wide network of contacts with high-ranking officials in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Finance. And to the words of lawyer Naydenov that the main goal of the investigation is to reach Boyko Rashkov and Asen Vasilev, the appellate judges replied that they have no right to comment on allegations of a political nuance. However, they were adamant that no party representative is immune from criminal prosecution if there is evidence that he has committed a crime. I BGNES
