BDZ: No lines will be closed, there will be optimization of the trains

Slavkov assured that they did not propose that this line be dropped. The municipality of General Toshevo made sharp criticisms because of the fear of closing the line.

"No line will be closed. All lines will be served by BDZ. I don't know why this tension is instilled. "We never said we were going to close lines," he said of the new train schedule that will come into effect from mid-December. The changes caused tension in settlements in Northern Bulgaria.

"The fact that we are reducing the number of trains or changing their schedule does not mean that we are closing the lines," specified the manager of BDZ-Passenger Transport.

The BDZ has received a number of proposals from municipalities, most of which, however, are unfeasible. The new schedule includes more opportunities for travel between Northern and Southern Bulgaria, commented Ventsislav Slavkov.

Timetables in peripheral areas such as Vidin and Kardzhali will be more convenient. The optimization will affect the directions with the least interest in traveling by train.

"There are slight adjustments to the train schedule. We have provided the necessary links. We have more or less improved the schedule and shortened the travel time on the individual lines," Slavkov said about the show "First of all".
