ITN and “ Revival“ have signed a complaint against the changes in the Constitution related to the appointment of official offices. This was announced by the two formations on the sidelines of the parliament.
53 signatures were collected for referral to the Constitutional Court. Paragraph 3 and paragraph 7 of the amendments to the Constitution made in the 47th National Assembly were attacked. One of them states that for an acting prime minister, the president already has a certain set of people to choose from. The other allows people with dual citizenship to be elected as MPs.
„This would, to a large extent, release this pitiful plot that you observe in the National Assembly, where even the Speaker of the National Assembly cannot be elected, because everyone is seen as a potential participant in the executive power,” Toshko Yordanov stated, quoted from bTV.
Months ago, the Constitutional Court reviewed the changes, failing to muster a majority to overturn them.
„Revival“ will submit a parallel complaint related to the changes and together with the BSP, the party announced.
