There is heavy traffic at the Kalotina border checkpoint on the border with Serbia for passenger cars entering, the General Directorate of the "Border Police" reported on its website. The information on the situation at the border checkpoints is as of 6:00 this morning.
On the border with Romania, traffic is normal at the border checkpoints. The "Border Police" recalls that since July 2, the ferry platform serving the Oryahovo-Beket line has suspended operations for an indefinite period due to low levels of the Danube River. Major repairs are being carried out on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge near Ruse, which is why a temporary traffic organization has been introduced. Traffic is carried out in one lane with a through traffic regime and is regulated by employees of the contractor company.
Only cars and minibuses up to 3.5 tons are allowed to pass through the border crossings with Greece in the area of Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad. Construction activities are underway on the road from the Greek side along the Rudozem - Xanthi destination. The Greek authorities have placed signs indicating that the terrain is a construction site and that outsiders are not allowed to enter the site.
A complete reconstruction of the checkpoint is being carried out at the "Stanke Lisichkovo" border checkpoint on the border with the Republic of North Macedonia and the crossing through the checkpoint is carried out on a limited number of routes. Traffic is normal at the other border checkpoints.
