The National Council of the "Continuing Change" (PP) is meeting today to decide on the vote of no confidence, which it will submit together with "Democratic Bulgaria" in September. This was announced by the chairman of the party, Assen Vassilev, who announced yesterday that the coalition will prepare a joint vote, which will be held in September. The topic and the motives are yet to be specified.

The deputies of the PP yesterday voted "for" the vote of no confidence, submitted by the parliamentary group of "Velichie" with the support of the deputies from the parliamentary groups of "Vazrazhdane" and "Moral, Unity, Honor" - a total of 48 MPs. Vassilev added that they supported the vote of no confidence "because they consider this government harmful to Bulgaria".

At an extraordinary meeting of the National Council of the party at the end of June, provoked by the resignation of Kiril Petkov as co-chairman and MP, after a scandal related to allegations of pressure exerted on the district mayors of "Lyulin" and "Mladost" regarding public procurement, it was decided that Assen Vassilev would remain the sole chairman until the General Assembly in September. The assembly is scheduled for September 27-28.

"Democratic Bulgaria" voted differently from "We continue the change" yesterday. The DB gave one leadership vote in support of the no-confidence vote submitted by "Velichy". Even before the start of the plenary session, the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Bozhidar Bozhanov announced that "Democratic Bulgaria", which is part of the PP-DB coalition, will not participate in the vote because they do not want to get on the "Russian train". But as a gesture to the PP, they will give one leadership vote in support. This vote, as well as the series of hollow votes, serves the ruling party, gives them more legitimacy and allows them to mock the pro-Russian opposition, Bozhanov explained.
