The most important thing right now is to keep prices under control, said the president of the CITUB Plamen Dimitrov on Nova TV.
In the small basket, some products are growing on an annual basis by even 20-30 percent. We already have a serious increase in our most essential goods and services, the leader of the CITUB noted. According to him, the consumer should be activated as the main control body in the market world, he should punish the one who has put a 200-300 percent markup.
When there are suspicions of unfair trade practices, the CPC should intervene and then we will see a regulator in action. There is no explanation why in recent years we have observed the highest absolute values of the price of dairy products in Bulgaria in the EU, said Dimitrov and admitted that this is not a form of market behavior.
He admitted that there will be another increase in our country's credit rating at the beginning of next year, when we actually enter the eurozone.
The budget for 2026 will probably be quite heavy, said Dimitrov.
According to him, incomes will grow at least at the same rate as in the last two years, which means a double-digit percentage - 12-13 to 15 percent. This also happened in all the Baltic countries after joining the eurozone, in six to seven years many omissions were caught up, Dimitrov recalled. I believe that this will also happen in Bulgaria, Dimitrov pointed out and specified that this should go hand in hand with the process of new investments and new added value for a fairer distribution between business and workers.
Bulgaria's main problem is the corruption environment, said the president of the CITUB. Investors look at the credit rating, but they also want guarantees for their investments, noted Plamen Dimitrov.
Dimitrov said that after the forestry workers on Monday, employees of other agencies will also protest.
Brussels' message is to reduce the deficit, not expenses, the president of the CITUB also pointed out.
