"It seems as if the prosecutor's office is behaving as a political club. If someone has committed a crime in Bulgaria, they must bear their responsibility, but 2.5 years later, I am very sorry". This is what PP-DB deputy Martin Dimitrov commented to BNT, quoted by novini.bg.
According to him, it seems a bit strange to request Kiril Petkov's immunity for actions that took place 2.5 years ago.
"This is happening right when we introduced our bill on the judiciary, which says that a high judicial council with an expired term cannot choose a chief prosecutor - that is, Borislav Sarafov. And at this very moment, he wants Kiril Petkov's immunity, it looks very theatrical," he said.
According to Dimitrov, there should be a regular government, because things are going downhill, and rather headlong.
"I am very concerned about the budget that was published by the Cabinet Office. There was one passage that struck me. It says that for 2024, the deficit was 3.3%, but they would try to make it 3% according to the European criteria. This is direct sabotage of the Eurozone. Our own Cabinet is sabotaging our entry into the Eurozone. Maybe for 2024 that you did not withhold the deficit, and even in the situation that they gave BGN 86 million to the municipalities without any criteria. Why did you do that if you have deficit problems for this year? These official offices are becoming a huge problem for Bulgaria", Dimitrov believes.
