Cornelia Ninova to FACTI: For the BSP, this participation in the cabinet is a deadly betrayal - 1

Some called the "assembly" made a compromise. I call it betrayal. And a government that was born in a lie. What are the compromises in politics… Cornelia Ninova speaks to FACTI.

- Ms. Ninova, how do you write down the names of your colleagues in parliament so that you know who you are talking to. Delyan Peevski brought out an interesting communication with Nikolay Denkov and Kiril Petkov from the time of the "assembly". And you were deputy prime minister at the time. What processes were going on then between Delyan Peevski and the ruling party…
- I write down the full names in my phone's memory. Even with the surnames, because the first names are often repeated. I don't have Kiki, Miki and Didko. I don't communicate with politicians at that level. What Mr. Peevski brought out is just another proof of the hypocrisy and the second plan on which political processes are carried out - one in front of the people, the other hidden. I have no idea what was going on between Delyan Peevski and PP-DB during Kiril Petkov's cabinet. However, one thing is clear to me: PP-DB morally failed and from being the embodiment of change they became an emblem of deception. I am very angry that they so lightly wasted the energy of the protests against the "Borisov" model and reanimated it.

- And today DPS - New Beginning and PP-DB are together the opposition? Are these the vicissitudes of politics…
- This is not vicissitude, this is unprincipledness and the use of politics for personal purposes. The day before yesterday they were praying to Peevski and thanking him, and now they are chattering at him. Come on, stop twirling your tails. You are either against the conquered state or you are not.

- Two MRFs in parliament is a new situation in Bulgarian politics. There will be a lot of questions with the word compromise. In this sense, is the choice between Dogan and Peevski a compromise…
- No. Borisov has worked well enough with both of them over the years and now. He is dependent on them. Because of these dependencies and fear, he is ready for anything and maneuvers according to the situation. The bad thing is that in this way the state and the people become victims and hostages of his dependencies.

- We have a regular cabinet with the participation of GERB-SDF, BSP, ITN and Dogan's MRF. And everyone says that this is a compromise in the name of Bulgaria. Is that so…
- Like many other words, the word compromise has lost its true meaning. Today, betrayal, sycophancy, the cross being bent, the selling of the national interest is called compromise.

And they lie that it was in the name of Bulgaria. No. It is in the name of their personal survival and salvation from justice and fairness.

Each of these parties swore before the people that it would never form a coalition with the others. I ask you, people, did they lie to you? Well, since when is a lie called a compromise? We have reached the point where the abnormal is called normal, and the normal is denied and spat upon. And so according to Botevski: "… the decent people in our country consider them crazy."

- Did Boyko Borisov make a compromise with Rosen Zhelyazkov becoming prime minister?
- What compromise? He knew from the very beginning that no one wanted him. A hypocritical game, so that later he could play the victim and be generous. Who wants a person as prime minister, during whose rule we are in last place in Europe in all indicators for standard of living, freedom of expression and first in mortality and corruption.

- What compromise is this for the BSP? After all, the National Assembly gave the party a mandate to participate in the government…
- I say again - this is not a compromise, but a betrayal. For the BSP, this participation in the cabinet is a deadly betrayal. I know the members and sympathizers of the BSP. I will divide them into two. A minimal part of the clientele, which is waiting for appointments and public procurements. They are now applauding. And the other, the vast majority idealists, pure and honest people. They will simply leave the party disgusted by the establishment and. I tell you this from experience. I have been in such a situation several times:

to choose between power with GERB and MRF and the interests of the establishment or morality and members and sympathizers.

I have always chosen the latter. That is why GERB, MRF and their internal proxies in the BSP removed me and now they have come together. But at least time has proven my principledness and correctness.

- Maya Manolova and Tatyana Doncheva have already announced that they are leaving the BSP-United Left because they do not want to participate in the “kiss of death“. What follows from this?
- You are wrong. Maya Manolova did not leave. She is waiting for him to become ombudsman again with the votes of GERB. Only Doncheva and Velizar Enchev left. It follows that the great left-wing unity has collapsed. Zafirov, Gutsanov, Vigenin, Moskov lied and used over 20 left-wing parties for a few ministerial positions.

The great left-wing alternative to the backstage model has become its small crutch.

Morality has been replaced with clientelism. Ideas with money. And dignity has been bought with positions for a few people. A pitiful story.

- Negotiations for a cabinet have been going on for 2 months, and there is no program. It was yet to be written. How do you view this and what should people expect? We don't even have a budget...
- These traitors set two Guinness World Records. The first is - there is a government, no program. The second is - there is a state, no budget. Did you know that we are the only country with two minimum wages? The president helpfully gave them 2 months to lie to us that they were negotiating on priorities and policies. What turned out in the end - for two months they cut and distributed the pie and the portions of power. During this time, half of Bulgaria was without electricity, the price of water, where it is available, jumped over 6 leva per cubic meter. The price of electricity and gas jumped by 9%, and that of bread by 30-40 stotinki.

None of this interests them. Nothing from the lives of Bulgarians.

After two months of negotiations, can you say: we came together, but in another month we will tell you what we came together for. Investments are collapsing, exports are falling, companies are closing, people are left on the streets. It is not known whether there will be support for electricity. They have no idea how to make and implement the concept of energy poverty. Complete indifference to people, blatant greed and lust for power.

- You know the people from the BSP who are ministers and deputy prime ministers. In general, what is your comment on the composition of the cabinet?
- The composition of the cabinet is a mechanical collection of people, formally nominated by the parties that supported the government. Those from the BSP have no idea about the sectors they are responsible for.

But for this Cabinet this does not matter, because they are pawns. Others will pull their strings and tell them what to sign.

The deep state is regrouping to survive and it is up to us - as a people - whether we want this to continue or whether we want to break with this past and start developing and progressing as a country.

- The opposition claims that a large part of the cabinet belongs to Peevski. What do you think? Does he have influence?
- I also believe that Peevski has his influence through ministers in the cabinet and time will prove it.

- President Rumen Radev announced that his relations with the new government will depend on how it will defend the national interest…
- I am shocked by his metamorphosis. The raised fist with the call "get out of here" broke into an outstretched hand and a handshake with the fists inside. From an alternative to the status quo, which he declared himself to be, he became a part of it, a negotiator with it and strengthening it. He did not challenge the fake elections before the Constitutional Court. What's more - he went to parliament and legitimized them. He gave 2 months for negotiations and congratulated the government, which is an assembly and emanation of everything he previously declared himself against. The rumors that he also participated in the bargaining for the formation of this government and that they gave him hidden positions of power in it may turn out to be true.

- You are creating a party “Unruly Bulgaria“. At what stage are you…
- There must be and will be an alternative to everything that is happening to us. The parliament was elected with fake elections. The government has gathered everything vicious from 35 years of transition. And as they gathered together, so they must leave together. One way is not to reconcile, not to submit, to fight. I did this for 8 years. I did not betray people, I did not sell ideas, I did not trade morality for a position. I was offered everything you can think of - Speaker of the National Assembly, ambassador, MEP. I refused everything. Once bought, you become dependent forever. Now I am gathering people in a national movement "Unsubdued Bulgaria", which will grow into a people's party. We are creating clubs in the country. Anyone who wants a true, legal, democratic and social state is welcome. Anyone who is brave, enterprising, not subject to addictions and seeking justice is welcome. And do not give up. Never give up. We are the alternative!
