The municipal structure of the DPS, which until now supported Ahmed Dogan, is switching to "DPS - New Beginning", the mayor of Kardzhali and deputy chairman of "DPS - New Beginning" Erol Mumun told journalists. The news was also confirmed for BTA by the chairman of the municipal structure in Ardino, Shahin Bayryamov.
According to Bayryamov, the decision was made at a meeting today. As the main motive for the step, he identified the example of Dzhevdet Chakarov, who resigned as chairman of the DPS party and also left the parliamentary group of "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms" – DPS.
According to Shahin Bayryamov, the entire municipal structure, which includes the mayor of Ardino municipality, Eng. Izet Shaban, village mayors and municipal councilors, is transferring to "DPS - New Beginning".
The decision comes not only after the resignation of Dzhevdet Chakarov, but also after the appeal of the deputy chairman of "DPS - New Beginning" Erol Mumun on May 19 from the square in Djebel for unification.
After today's decision of the municipal structure in Ardino, those supporting Ahmed Dogan in the Kardzhali region are the mayors and structures in Kirkovo, Momchilgrad and Krumovgrad, and in "DPS - New Beginning" are the mayors and structures in Kardzhali, Chernoochene, Djebel and Ardino.
