The Deputy Mayor for Finance is delaying the transfer of money for transport workers' salaries this month. This is what Ivan Takov, chairman of the Local Coalition "BSP for Bulgaria" and the Standing Committee on Transport and Road Safety in the Municipal Assembly, has warned, the press center of the BSP-Sofia reports.
Takov received information that until yesterday, no funds for salaries had been received in the accounts of the municipal company CGM. "Usually, workers in the four municipal transport companies receive their salaries by the 25th. This month, until yesterday, no funds had been received in the accounts of the Central Transport Corporation, that is, Ivan Vassilev had not transferred the money. And the system is such that the Sofia Municipality transfers the money to the Central Transport Corporation, and the Central Transport Corporation then transfers it to the transport operators so that their employees can receive their salaries, said Ivan Takov. And there is a serious danger that transport workers will be left without remuneration before the three days off for one of the best holidays of the year - May 24. If this really happens, it seems to me like a very petty nagging and an extremely unfair attitude towards transport workers. If this is the "revenge of the Smiling Ones", as they called themselves, led by the mayor, then it is complete disgrace and negligence".
According to Ivan Takov, at some point this money will be transferred to the Central Transport Corporation's account. "With this delay and possibly leaving people without money just for the holidays, the mayor and his deputy for finance want to show them that they are in control of things. And to warn them that these disobedient people who went to protest against the wonderful mayor and his deputy for finance and demand higher salaries can easily be punished. This is truly a total disgrace. Terziev and Vassilev should be aware that they are playing an extremely dangerous game. I really hope that within today's time they will refute me and transfer the money to the Central Transport Corporation so that transport workers can have peace of mind during the holidays.
