The pipeline at the bottom of Varna Lake has failed again, but the damage has already been repaired, the Municipality announced, quoting Deputy Mayor Plamen Kitipov, BNT reported.
The repair was carried out by teams from "Hidroremont IG" OOD. The company is the contractor for the project to repair the pressure pipeline for wastewater in the lake.
The failure was detected after fluctuations in the operating pressure values were recorded. The Municipality specifies that the pipeline has been fully restored, tests have been carried out and the facility is now operating under pressure.
The last time the pipe in the lake failed was in May. The repair was done in two days.
The pipeline was laid in 2011, BTA recalls. In 2019, it broke down and caused serious pollution in Lake Varna. In April 2024, the state provided 24 million leva for its repair.
