The most complicated and expensive part of the renovation that is being carried out on "Oplchenska" street in the capital, will be the construction of a sewage collector with a large capacity. It will help drain water from a number of neighborhoods. The construction of sewerage under the boulevards “Gen. Totleben“ and “Tsar Boris III”, which are the next priority large objects of the Metropolitan Municipality. In addition to the sewage system, the electrical installation under the canvas will also be replaced.
There will also be a widened two-lane carriageway and BUS lanes, replaced underground infrastructure, new pavements, LED lighting and trolley bus catenary, and doubling of removed trees.
The widening of the street will ease traffic and reduce traffic jams, according to the Metropolitan Municipality. The new bus lanes will give priority to public transport.
„Although we have to remove 39 trees from one side of the street, we will plant 103 new ones – not only on the street, but also near it. We will take special care of the newly planted trees to make sure they don't dry out," says Mayor Vasil Terziev.
