Renovation – this is the future of the administrative building of „Balkanton“ in the capital's Lagera district. It will include renovation of the base, which will preserve and modernize the work process and will help preserve the cultural heritage that is on its territory. The project envisages the construction of new buildings that will ennoble the neighborhood, improving working and living conditions.
The information has been confirmed by the company that has owned the „Balkanton“ site since 2021. They categorically denied the demolition of the building, which is also a cultural monument.
Only the buildings that are on the „Balkanton“ plot, but have no public significance and are dangerous to people, will be removed. These are several storage halls, an old internal thermal power plant, a construction laboratory, a car service and other small buildings with no direct connection to the activities of the record company. The reason for their removal is the impossibility of repairing them, as they have either been partially demolished or have been completely unusable since the previous owners.
After the removal of the buildings on the plot, the new project for the terrain will include the construction of three residential and administrative buildings. An adjacent underground parking lot is also planned for them, which will improve the infrastructure in the neighborhood. The design and implementation of the entire project is legal, in accordance with the amendments to the Urban Development Plan and aims to modernize the area, while preserving its historical value. Due to the public importance of the project, the company will promptly inform local residents and all interested parties about the upcoming steps, thus ensuring full transparency.
The company that owns “Balkanton“ realizes the value of the recording company for musical performers and for Bulgarian art since 1952. Therefore, in addition to preserving all available resources, the company will strive to continue the activities of the recording studio in the future and even implement more innovative ideas.
The enterprise “Balkanton“, which was privatized in 2021, is on the verge of its Renaissance. The investment intentions of its new owner include the preparation of a project for the renovation of the administrative building, and after the renovation activities, it will continue to function as before. All available inventory will also be preserved - records, recording machines and other exhibits, which, however, have not been maintained over the years and are currently unusable.
The remaining buildings located on the plot and posing a danger due to their poor condition, including storage halls, an old internal thermal power plant, a construction laboratory and a car service station, will be demolished. In their place, the construction of three residential buildings and commercial premises is planned. In order to preserve the green areas and ensure convenience for both residents and temporary residents, an underground parking lot will be built.
All this aims not only to improve the area, but also to provide better living and working conditions, while working to preserve the iconic administrative building, create a museum and build new functional buildings.
Given the significance of the project, transparency is guaranteed at every step of its implementation, actively informing local residents and stakeholders about the progress of construction activities and urban planning requirements.
