The population of the village of Bogdanliya, which is located 9 km from the town of Elin Pelin, is about 100 people. Already at the beginning of last year, the municipal authorities of the town, to which the village belongs, removed 200 acres of pastures from the village's land and gave consent for a preliminary change in their purpose. The municipal development plan has been changed in such a way that it provides for the expansion of the construction boundaries to double the area of the village itself.
The goal is to change the status of the land and give it to construction entrepreneurs for the construction of housing and other types of buildings. “However, these pastures fall into the floodplain of the river. The Water Act prohibits construction in the floodplains of rivers,“ said Vyara Mladenova, a member of the Initiative Committee, and claims that the municipality has provided data with false content.
According to representatives of the initiative committee, there is a financial interest from a private person in the issues of 200 acres of pastures.
For a coin in the village, one house and several plots of land are being offered, according to data from the largest real estate website imot.bg. The plots are under 1 decare, with the exception of one, whose area is 4,000 sq m. The price of the plots is between 41,000 EUR and 46,000 EUR.
