British King Charles III, who is 75 years, marks the second anniversary of the succession to the British throne after the death of the British Queen Elizabeth II, reported PA Media, quoted by BTA.

The Queen died aged 96 on 8 September 2022 at the royal residence at Balmoral. Charles III succeeded to the throne, and in May of the following year was his coronation ceremony.

This year, the king and also his daughter-in-law, Princess Catherine, announced that they were suffering from cancer.

Buckingham Palace sources say the monarch's health is on a very positive trajectory. They add that he made a determined effort despite his illness during the year to attend public events as much as possible to reassure the people. In this undertaking he also relied on Queen Camilla, his wife.

Charles III is expected to attend a church service today to mark the anniversary of his mother's death. He resides in Aberdeenshire.

The royal couple are also gearing up for a major tour of Australia and Samoa in the fall. It will also be Charles III's first major overseas trip since he was diagnosed with cancer.

Earlier in the week, Camilla opened a cancer treatment center in Bath and said the King was doing very well.

The king was away from the public for the first three months of the year because of his illness. He returned to active duty in April, and in June his schedule was busy with the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings and the official celebration of the British monarch's birthday. This was followed in July by the appointment of a new prime minister after the parliamentary elections, after which the king read the program speech of the new government to the parliament.
