Boyko Borisov today from Plovdiv: “We have positioned ourselves as the first political force. I want GERB to rule!”.
Good, but for four years now, with two exceptions out of six early parliamentary elections, GERB is the first political force, but they cannot form a government. The 7ths are coming up. What is the guarantee that they will succeed now?
The chances of the 51st Parliament producing a regular government are minimal. The first two powers will not have 121 mandates. Small parties will have to be involved, but which ones? PP-DB will restrict all formations, which they doubt that Delyan Peevski has influence in them. And even now, they demand that Boyko Borisov prove absolute emancipation from him if he wants to talk, as their idea is to form an anti-Peevski parliamentary front.
Well, how do you think that will happen? Because I don't see Borisov in this role. Nor would Peevski allow it.
The new parliament will be revolutionary and significant. And it is very likely that if GERB fails once again to form a government with the first mandate, Bulgaria's Euro-Atlantic strategic partners will completely rethink the usefulness of this party as the first political force of its kind, because it cannot provide and guarantee stable and predictable management. That's on the one hand. On the other hand, its electoral weight will continue to decline and internal processes of dissatisfaction and swarming will begin, due to the inability of its leader to provide his asset with an exit to the executive power.
Borisov reluctantly commented on yesterday's speech by President Rumen Radev and his absentee scandal with Delyan Peevski:
"From what the president said, he is right about one thing - everyone needs to position themselves. I have positioned myself as the first political force - whoever wants to stand around the first is welcome. From now on we have to position ourselves for the planning of a government" - Borisov also said in Plovdiv, in response to President Rumen Radev, who yesterday in absentia reprimanded Boyko Borsov for being condescending about what is happening in the DPS and the state.
And added:
“The DPS have never supported me for anything, never. I, from the rostrum of the National Assembly, renounced them. But I don't deny that during the assembly with them we made the most difficult decisions when everyone was hiding – for the aid to Ukraine, the constitutional reform, the judiciary, the budget...
When I clashed with the DPS, the president was with them. When I confronted the president, they were with him. Then no one came out to tell us to position ourselves.
I did not work with DPS, we helped each other when we needed it. Everyone should tighten up, get a good result, raise voter turnout so we can form a government. If we start with “anti” from now on, how will we form a government? Now what has happened is a new division. With whom will we form a government? “We continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” said that around “Revival” we need a sanitary cordon“
An absent comment in this regard also came today from the PP-DB, in the person of Ivaylo Mirchev, who from the BNR called on Boyko Borisov and Ahmed Dogan "to come out and talk about Peevski".
"...When the president talks about Peevski in several consecutive interviews, the politicians do not want to deal with him. Borisov to get out of the bush where he was hiding. And instead of turning a blind eye, he should come out and say what he thinks about what is happening with Peevski.
Ahmed Dogan to give an interview and tell everything about Peevski, as Tsvetan Vassilev did.
We must do so as not to allow another Peevski to be born in Bulgaria. There are many people who want to take Peevski's place. While we are busy removing Peevski from politics and society, there are those who are preparing to jump to take his place. The country should be rid of this type of people and the regulators should finally get to work.
At the moment, everything possible is being done to keep Peevski in the judicial system, in the prosecutor's office, in the services, in the regulators, in all institutions. This offensive for the election of a new chief prosecutor by the Supreme Court is exactly his, and I wonder where Boyko Borisov is on the field here, because he too has hidden in the bushes and only occasionally gives one timid eye." - points out Ivaylo Mirchev.
These will be the most difficult, the most important and the most dangerous elections for both Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski. With the next ones, the landscape of the picture will be radically different, and they are knocking on the door of 2025.
And in the end - what does it matter which will be the first political party, if over 70% of Bulgarians refuse to participate in the election process? What will be its legitimacy, and that of the parliament in general?
It is extremely imperative that the Bulgarian people wake up, so as not to miss the golden opportunity for normalcy in the country, which the “maps” provide. The old is going away anyway, but the intensity of this already started process depends on the citizens.
