FAKTI.BG publishes opinions with a wide range of perspectives to encourage constructive debates.

We are already preparing for elections on October 27, extraordinary, of course. Why? Because we don't have a regular cabinet. Why? Because it is easier to hold power through an official. Why? Because that way, someone else is responsible for what is happening in the country. Why? Because it's easier and more convenient that way. Why? Because we will have control over the office (it's not Radev's anymore) and everything will go on as it was. Why? Because that is how it was recorded with the changes in the Constitution. Why? Because that's what the “assembly“ decided. Well, we agreed – “the assembly”. Isn't it supposed that the price of the “assembly” was to have constitutional changes whereby there is a permanent parliament, even under a caretaker government, to control it so that the caretaker government doesn't do mischief.

What changed in the Constitution
We now have the possibility for MPs and ministers to have another citizenship besides the Bulgarian one. Division of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJSC) into two - the Supreme Judicial Council and the Supreme Prosecutor's Council. Narrowing the circle of people who can become acting prime ministers. CONTINUATION OF THE WORK OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, EVEN WHEN IT FAILS TO PRODUCE A GOVERNMENT. Election of the heads of regulatory bodies such as the Audit Chamber by a majority of two-thirds of the deputies, etc.

And where is the parliament? Why isn't it working? Shouldn't he monitor the work of the caretaker government? Why doesn't he?

Simple questions for MPs who are on vacation, sorry election campaign. Not that there is any difference between the two.

And why was this change for us in particular, that the parliament works during the time of an official cabinet, after the deputies went on vacation, sorry, re-election campaign. Yes, their standard excuse is that the parliament should not be used for election campaigning and that is why they are on vacation, sorry campaign. Knock, knock. But have you heard the MPs even if they raised the issue that while they are on vacation, sorry election campaign, they will give up their salaries…

Have you heard that a member of parliament has taken an unpaid leave of absence… Rhetorical questions, sort of. And let's not forget that the MP's salary starts somewhere over BGN 8,000 – depending on the experience, and some bring 12,000 – 13,000. MPs are not stupid to take unpaid leave, are they? And let's not forget that the salary of the new deputies, who we will empower on October 27, starts to be calculated from 00:00 on October 28. Election day ends and payroll begins, although it is not known who the new elected officials are. When we know the names, when the results are announced, the first salary has already been formed…
So do you remember the time when the MPs decided to work during cabinet time as well…
