Prosecutors ask for prison sentence for former Monaco striker Wissam ben Yeder in a case of rape, the RMC Sport agency reported, quoted by BTA.

The prosecutor appealed for two years and six months in prison for the football player, of which 18 months were suspended with a probationary period. The sentence will be pronounced on November 12.

During the trial, Ben Yedder said he could not testify because he was drunk at the time and did not remember details. The defense also said that he is currently being treated for alcohol addiction.

The 34-year-old played for Monaco from 2019 to 2024. He made 201 appearances for the club, scoring 118 goals and providing 34 assists.
