Hundreds of thousands of Napoli fans congratulated the team's players on the Italian championship title during today's parade, organized by the club and the city of Naples today. The players docked at the port by boat and toured the central streets in two open-top buses, BTA reported.
Napoli won the title after a 2-0 victory over Cagliari on Friday, when supporters again took to the streets to party until the early hours of the morning. This is the club's second championship trophy in the last three years, but in 2023 the "sky blues" did not have a parade.
It was also the second title for the club's leading scorer Romelu Lukaku, who won his first with Inter in 2021.
"I am experiencing very strong emotions right now. We did a great job and I'm happy for all these people, as well as for us, for the team, for the club, for the coach. We didn't give up at any point and we fully deserved this success," the Belgian striker told Rai from the bus.
Midfielder Stanislav Lobotka also shared his joy at the atmosphere on the streets of Naples: "I'm very happy that we can celebrate with these fans. For me, for the team and for the city, they are extremely important. They are Naples".
