Bulgaria defeated Japan with a 3:0 (27:25, 25:23, 25:19) in the first match for both teams of the second week in this year's edition of the Volleyball Nations League for men, FOCUS reported.
The match was played in the crowded "Arena Burgas".
"The Samurai" are finalists from last year's edition of the tournament. They played without their stars Yui Nishida, Ran Takahashi and Yuki Ishikawa.
After the success, Bulgaria came in 6th position in the provisional standings with an asset of 3 wins, 2 losses and 8 points. Japan are 4th with a balance of 3-2 and 9 points.
