Skoda Auto has introduced the electric crossover Elroq RS in a new matte gray color. This is the first model of the brand to use this innovative matte coating technology. To achieve this effect, teams of Skoda specialists worked together with suppliers, testing numerous paint options, conducting simulations and refining processes to ensure the high quality of the coating.

The matte effect is achieved with a transparent varnish that is enriched with a special matting agent containing silica nanoparticles. These particles rise to the surface of the varnish and scatter light in different directions, creating a deep visual effect. According to Pavel Saska, the paint shop planning coordinator, this ultra-matte coating reduces the gloss level and visually deepens the matte effect.

To protect the bodywork during transportation, a special coating is used that covers the entire car, instead of conventional protective films. Owners of the limited edition Elroq RS receive detailed instructions in the owner's manual, warning them not to polish the car, treat it with wax or other wax products.

The Elroq RS is the flagship version of the Elroq line. It is equipped with two electric motors with a total power of 340 hp, which provide acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 180 km/h. Despite its sporty characteristics, the crossover has an impressive range of up to 550 km according to the WLTP cycle thanks to a battery with a capacity of 84 kWh, which can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 26 minutes. For greater comfort, the model has an adaptive DCC suspension, wheels up to 21 inches and special driving modes that provide an optimal balance between dynamics and comfort on long trips.
