The iPhone 16 series debuts with the new A18 and 18 Pro processors, whose preliminary test results are not particularly impressive, especially compared to potential competitors. But Apple apparently isn't worried about that at all.
According to preliminary estimates, Apple's new processors are weaker in terms of multi-core performance than the upcoming flagship chips MediaTek Dimensity 9400 and Qualcomm Snapadragon 8 Gen 4.
According to Apple hardware director Johnny Srouji, however, it is a mistake to think that the performance of the A-series chips is not as good as that of competitors, because the test results are meaningless.
