Kremlin's Enemy! Russia Again Wants Opposition Politician Vladimir Kara-Murza - 1

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put Russian opposition politician Vladimir Kara-Murza on the wanted list, the publication "Mediazona" reported, citing the police database. It is not yet known under which article of the Criminal Code Kara-Murza is wanted.

The oppositionist, known for his criticism of the Kremlin and the war in Ukraine, was released from a Russian prison on August 1, 2024, as part of a large-scale exchange of detainees between Russia and the West.

In 2023, the Moscow City Court sentenced him to 25 years in prison on charges of "spreading false information about the army", "participation in the activities of an undesirable organization" and "high treason". The reason was his public stance against the Russian invasion of Ukraine and his participation in international forums where he condemned the Kremlin's actions.

After his release, Kara-Murza has lived outside Russia. News of his search has sparked speculation that Moscow may be trying to regain control over opposition figures who fled the country after the prisoner swap.
