The leadership of the Palestinian radical movement Hamas has told American mediators that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip has “expired“, accusing Israel of violating the ceasefire, Al Hadath reported.
According to the TV channel, Hamas representatives told the US President's envoy Steven Witkoff and the US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner that “the agreement has expired and the movement is ready for battle“. Representatives of the movement accuse Israel of violating the ceasefire. Hamas stressed that the ceasefire must be mutual and said that “Gaza will not become Lebanon“, TASS reports.
Hamas had previously called on mediators to urgently intervene and put pressure on Israel to immediately stop violating the agreement.
The Palestinian movement is seeking to force the United States to call on the Israeli authorities to comply with the obligations outlined in the quadripartite agreement.
On November 20, Hamas representatives accused Israel of expanding its control in Gaza, claiming that the military had moved the demarcation line 300 meters east of the Al-Shujaiya neighborhood.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Israeli army had killed five Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip. He explained that Hamas fighters had violated a previously established ceasefire. A ceasefire agreement in Gaza was reached in October.
