Iran continues to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) independently and does not need mediators, said Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Islamic Republic's Foreign Ministry.
„As for the Agency, it must be said that we do not need mediation assistance. "The Islamic Republic of Iran is cooperating with the Agency, including through its permanent mission in Vienna," he said during a weekly briefing.
Bagai stressed that the IAEA and its Board of Governors must hold the United States, Israel and other backers of military attacks on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities accountable, "instead of constantly complaining about Iran's lack of cooperation."
On September 9, Iran and the IAEA signed an agreement in Egypt to resume cooperation, suspended after the June attacks by Israel and the United States, as the organization's lack of condemnation of countries that attacked nuclear facilities drew criticism in the country. As the Iranian Foreign Minister explained after the signing of the document, if hostile actions against the republic are resumed, all contacts with the IAEA will be terminated again.
On November 20, in response to the adoption by the IAEA of another anti-Iranian resolution, Iran sent a notice of termination of the cooperation agreement between Tehran and the agency, previously concluded in Cairo.
