The Kremlin did not comment on media reports about Kiev's proposed version of a plan to settle the Ukrainian conflict, TASS reported, citing a statement by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, BTA reported.
"I have already answered this question, so I see no point in repeating myself", Peskov said in response to a request to comment on the 20-point plan published in the media.
Earlier, he stressed that Moscow did not consider it appropriate to "conduct any communication through the media" on the peace plan.
Putin was briefed on contacts with U.S. President Donald Trump's envoys regarding U.S. proposals for a plan to end the conflict, Peskov added, as quoted by Reuters.
Trump, who says he wants to be remembered as a peacemaker, has repeatedly complained that ending the war in Ukraine - the deadliest in Europe since World War II - is the most elusive foreign policy goal of his presidency. Ukraine and its European allies worry that Trump could betray Ukraine and leave European powers footing the bill for supporting a devastated Ukraine after Russian forces seized 12-17 square kilometers of Ukraine a day in 2025.
"All the main parameters of the Russian side's position are well known to our U.S. colleagues," Peskov said. "We now intend to formulate our position based on the information received from the head of state and continue our contacts in the nearest future through the existing channels that are currently functioning."
In recent weeks, Putin has stated that his conditions for peace are that Ukraine cede about 5,000 sq km of Donbass, which it still controls, and that Kiev officially abandon its intention to join the NATO military alliance.
In addition, Peskov said that the Kremlin would announce if it receives proposals to resume dialogue between the presidents of Russia and France, Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron, TASS notes.
