US President Donald Trump is angry with both Ukraine and Russia because they are unwilling to reach an agreement, writes the German publication Focus.de.

US President Trump admits that he has so far failed to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. According to the Kyiv Independent, he said that neither Moscow nor Kiev are willing to reach an agreement.

“I am trying to resolve the problem between Russia and Ukraine. If Russia is ready, Ukraine is not ready. If Ukraine is ready, Russia is not ready“, he said at the White House.

Trump recently said that Russia is ready to make a deal, while Ukraine is not so ready. However, Kiev has already accepted several US-backed peace proposals and was even ready to give up NATO membership if strong security guarantees were provided. In contrast, Moscow continues to pursue its maximalist demands.

Trump also mentioned that he had ended eight wars during his presidency. He stressed that he did not do this to win the Nobel Prize. A few days earlier, Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado symbolically presented him with her Nobel medal. However, the Nobel Committee does not allow the official transfer or sharing of the prize.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that on Thursday he would receive White House special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, TASS reported.

Putin announced the upcoming meeting tonight after an operational meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

The Russian president noted that Witkoff and Kushner "arrived in Moscow to continue the dialogue on the issues of the Ukrainian settlement". He noted that he intends to discuss with US representatives the details of Russia's participation in Trump's proposed Peace Council, after the US leader invited Moscow to join the new organization.

The Kremlin said yesterday that it had nothing to say publicly about the talks in Davos between envoys of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

The envoys said that their meeting in Davos on a possible future peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine was “very positive“ and “constructive“.

When asked for more details, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that it was important for Russia to receive information about the discussions between the US and the Europeans with Ukraine. However, he added that he could not reveal details because the issues of resolving the Ukrainian issue are “closed in nature“.
