NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe: Alliance concerned about Russia-China cooperation in the Arctic - 1

Increased cooperation between China and Russia is a source of concern for NATO. This was stated by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Alexis Grinkevich, quoted by "Reuters".

"Over the last few years, we have seen this happening both in the maritime domain with increased joint patrols and in the air domain with long-range bomber patrols conducted jointly," he noted.

"We are constantly trying to improve our position and thinking about ways in which countries can improve their position in the Arctic," Grinkevich emphasized.

Yesterday, US President Donald Trump abruptly abandoned his threats to impose tariffs as leverage to seize Greenland, ruled out the use of force and said that a deal to end the dispute over Danish territory was on the horizon.

NATO is waiting for guidance on a possible agreement on the territory, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone said.
