The United States has closed two embassies in the Middle East and reduced its diplomatic presence in several other countries as strikes in the region continue.
The US embassy in Saudi Arabia was closed today after the facility was hit by two suspected Iranian drones.
Meanwhile, the US embassy in Kuwait closed its doors “until further notice”. The US State Department previously ordered the departure of non-emergency government personnel from Kuwait, CNN recalls. The State Department called on Americans to immediately leave 14 countries in the region due to “serious safety risks“.
