German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has urged that the Middle East war not be allowed to lead to neglect of Ukraine's air defense needs, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
The need for air defense assets has sharply increased due to Iran's counterattacks, which the Islamic Republic launched after being attacked last week by the United States and Israel.
"Everyone knows that air defense systems and air defense missiles are a rare commodity in a global context. "The ongoing war in the Middle East should not distract us from the war in Europe, from the war against Ukraine," Pistorius told reporters in Berlin today.
"We must continue to do everything to support Ukraine, while at the same time not leaving the Gulf countries alone, perhaps by helping them with equipment and logistics if possible," the German minister stressed.
