The headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels was evacuated after a bomb threat related to a neighboring building was received earlier today, Belgian media reported. It is specified that the police carried out a search and no explosive device was found, writes BTA.
It is noted that the threat was received around 1:20 p.m. (2:20 p.m. Bulgarian time), and the police work ended two hours later. It is explained that the threat was against the building of the European External Action Service, which is located meters from the EC headquarters.
Earlier today, schools in Brussels and the southern Belgian region of Wallonia also received bomb threats. In this case, the Belgian security services considered that there was no serious danger and the classes took place under additional security measures.
