The House of Representatives of the US Congress must urgently pass the bills for new military aid to Ukraine and Israel and for humanitarian aid to Gaza, called for US President Joe Biden in an article published today by the "Wall Street Journal", quoted by France Press, BTA writes.
"While both countries are fully capable of defending their own sovereignty, they depend on US aid, including weapons, to do so. And we are at a decisive moment", writes the American president.
The Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson, announced on Monday that he would bring up four bills this week: one to help Ukraine, one to Israel, a third to strengthen US allies in Indo- the Pacific region and fourth to adopt additional measures to counter Washington's adversaries and strengthen national security.
The White House expressed cautious support for these new bills yesterday. So far, however, Biden has not expressed his open support for them, AFP points out.
"Both Ukraine and Israel are under attack by audacious enemies who seek to destroy them," Biden said in his article.
