Moscow will expand further its "buffer zone" in Ukraine if Kiev received from the United States longer-range tactical ATACM missiles that would allow it to strike deeper into Russia. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by "Reuters".
Yesterday, two US officials indicated that the United States is preparing $1 billion in military aid to Ukraine, the first package to be provided by the still-unsigned Ukraine-Israel bill.
When asked about the possibility that the package would include longer-range ATACM missiles, Peskov noted that Russia's position on the subject had not changed - namely that it would be forced to expand the so-called "buffer zone" in Ukraine if longer-range missiles are delivered.
