Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that during today's summit of the Bucharest Nine and the Nordic countries, decisions were made to provide new aid packages to Ukraine, Ukrinform reported, citing Zelensky's statement after the meeting, BTA reported.

„Today we agreed with our partners on several joint decisions that will further strengthen our defense. Thank you all for your willingness to help. There will be new packages, there will be new investments in Ukrainian arms production, especially drones,“, said the Ukrainian president.

He stressed that Ukraine is capable of producing much more weapons and noted that partners who invest in the Ukrainian defense industry will receive priority access to replenish their arsenals after the war.

Meanwhile, the leaders who participated in the Vilnius summit published a joint declaration, which states that the Bucharest Nine countries (including Bulgaria) and the Nordic countries will continue to provide Ukraine with political, military, economic and humanitarian support so that it can achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace.

“We will continue political, military, economic and humanitarian support to provide Ukraine with the strongest possible position to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the principles of the UN Charter and international law“, the statement said.

The document also emphasizes that the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague should demonstrate the alliance's unwavering support and commitment to Ukraine.

“We strongly support the Allied decision and commitment to Ukraine's irreversible path towards full Euro-Atlantic integration, including NATO membership. "Ukraine has the right to its own security choices and to make its own decisions about its own future, free from external interference," the statement said.

The leaders also committed to strengthening efforts to deter Russia, including its ability to wage an aggressive war against Ukraine, by increasing pressure on Russia, including through sanctions.

The document also condemns any form of support for Russian aggression against Ukraine and calls for its cessation.
