Russia repelled a massive Ukrainian air attack on Sevastopol, Moscow-appointed head of the city Mikhail Razvozhaev said today, quoted by Reuters and BTA.
According to Razvozhaev, debris from a rocket fell in a residential area.
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties, Razvozhaev said in the communication application "Telegram", noting that during the night Russian air defense systems destroyed several aerial objects over the Black Sea.
Reuters notes that no further details about the scale and impact of the attack are known at this time.
Reuters also notes that it cannot independently confirm the information reported by Razvozhaev. Ukraine has not commented on the case.
Russia annexed Crimea and Sevastopol from Ukraine ten years ago, a move that was condemned by Kiev's Western allies.
