US decision to raise tariffs on imports of Chinese goods is a sign of weakness, not strength, and Beijing will respond appropriately, said the foreign minister of the Asian giant, Wang Yi, BNR reported.
Wan Yi criticized Washington's decision, calling it "the most typical form of harassment" in modern times. In his words, the decision is unreasonable and only shows the desire of some people in the United Damages "to preserve their unipolar hegemony."
"Instead of hindering China's development, the US move will inspire our almost one and a half billion citizens to work harder,'' the Chinese foreign minister also believes, calling on the international community to warn Washington not to cause new problems of the world at this "critical moment of global economic recovery".
I recall that yesterday US President Joe Biden announced a sharp increase in tariffs on Chinese imports, including tariffs on batteries for electric vehicles, computer chips and medical products.
Last week, China also objected to the US decision to add 37 Chinese companies to a list of trade restrictions over national security concerns.
