Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that Russia is ready for dialogue with the USA, adding that there are signals of readiness in the country to start talks on strategic stability, "but they turn into speeches on abstract topics", reports TASS.
"Let us wait for the formation of the new administration and find out what its plans and preferences are, I want to repeat – we are ready for dialogue," Putin said.
He has indicated that he is not familiar with Donald Trump's proposals for a peaceful end to the conflict in Ukraine.
"The fact is that Mr. Trump, as a candidate for president, is saying that he is ready and that he wants to stop the war in Ukraine, we take that quite seriously, but I'm not familiar with any of his proposals as to how he plans to did. This, of course, is a key issue, but I have no doubt that he says it sincerely and we will support him," the Russian president added.
