The Opel Combo 2025 range has been expanded with a non-standard off-road version that has four-wheel drive. The van will be sold on the European market, and details about it were revealed on the Stellantis concern's website.
The new Opel Combo 4x4 was developed with the participation of the French company Dangel, which specializes in off-road trucks. It has been cooperating with Stellantis for a long time, so it is possible that similar versions will soon appear on the Combo's "brothers" - Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner.
The new all-wheel drive system is fundamentally different from other Dangel developments, as there is no mechanical connection to the rear wheels. Instead, a 48-volt electric motor is installed there - like in the Jeep Avenger 4xe.
The other interesting thing is that the front wheels are driven by a 1.5-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 130 horsepower, which works in tandem with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A battery with a capacity of 4.8 kWh is also installed, and thus the Opel Combo 4x4 becomes a diesel hybrid.
Currently, the new Opel Combo 4x4 is only available with a van body in the standard 4.4-meter or extended 4.75-meter version. The car's ground clearance has been increased by 90 mm (up to 245 mm).
Two displays are installed in the cabin on the front panel. In addition, the equipment of the Opel Combo 4x4 is richer - all-round view cameras with the ability to display the image in the interior mirror have been added. The surcharge for the all-wheel drive version is 9,250 euros.
