Today in Washington opens the meeting of NATO summit dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Alliance. In this regard, the German newspaper BILD compiled a detailed infographic comparing the armed forces of 32 NATO countries with those of Russia and China.
A total of 3,438,097 people serve in the armies of NATO countries. Almost half of them are in the US military. Their number is greater than that of those serving in the armies of Russia and China combined.
In total, NATO countries have 1,894 MLRS and 11,710 self-propelled artillery systems. Only Russia surpasses them in both indicators.
NATO has 3,387 combat aircraft and 9,030 helicopters. That's more than Russia and China combined.
By the number of destroyers (95), submarines (144), frigates (134) and aircraft carriers (17), NATO surpasses Russia and China combined.
The US, France and the UK have fewer nuclear warheads combined (5,559) than Russia alone (5,580).
