Former US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he “is not against“ electric cars, but insisted that not all cars on the streets should be electric.
„There cannot be 100% electric cars”, he stressed. “They are not for everyone, some people have to drive long distances. Also, electric cars tend to be more expensive,” Trump added at a rally in Michigan.
The Republican presidential candidate also said that despite his constant comments against electric cars, he is on good terms with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who supported him after the shooting at his rally in Pennsylvania.
„I love Elon Musk”, Trump declared.
„I will end the US commitment to electric cars on my first day as president”.
So a few days ago, Donald Trump from Wisconsin supported American car manufacturers.
In doing so, he made it clear how the move was absolutely necessary to “save the US auto industry from total destruction and save the average consumer thousands of dollars in car purchases."
