Donald Trump said, that no one warned him of trouble on the eve of the rally in Pennsylvania, when he was shot in the ear, reports Reuters.

"No one mentioned it, no one said there was a problem. I would wait 15, they could say wait 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 5 minutes, something. No one said," Trump said in an interview with Fox News.

"I think that was a mistake," he added. "How did anyone get on that roof? And why hasn't anyone reported him?"

The Washington Post reported on Saturday that senior US Secret Service officials repeatedly rejected requests from Trump's bodyguards for more manpower and equipment at events leading up to the July 13 assassination attempt.

The agency in charge of protecting Trump has rejected those requests, saying at times it lacks resources, the paper said, citing people familiar with the matter.

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi previously denied allegations that the agency rejected requests for more security resources from the Trump team.

In a statement emailed to Reuters on Sunday, Guglielmi said: "In some cases where specific specialized units or Secret Service resources were not provided, the agency made modifications to ensure the security of the protected individual.

"This may include using state or local partners to provide specialized functions or otherwise identify alternatives to reduce public exposure of a protected individual," Guglielmi added.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee on July 22 for a hearing related to the shooting.
