US Vice President Kamala Harris admitted yesterday that she is an "outsider" in the battle against Donald Trump, but confirmed that her fledgling presidential campaign will prevail over "outright lies" to her rival, reported France Press, quoted by BTA.
Harris, who this past week received the support of big names in the Republican camp to replace Joe Biden in the race for the White House, participated in a fundraiser in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
„We are underdogs in this race, that's true, but this is a campaign for the popular vote,” said Harris, 59, who is a former senator.
Harris, who in January 2021 became the first woman, the first African-American and the first person of Asian descent to hold the vice-presidential post, assumes her new role as a candidate for the Nov. 5 election.
She managed to give the Democratic campaign a new boost a week after President Joe Biden announced his retirement after intense pressure over concerns about his age and his physical and mental abilities.
Yesterday, Kamala Harris again criticized her Republican rival Trump, who does not immediately want to participate in a debate with her.
„I hope he reconsiders his decision because we have a lot to talk about,” Harris said.
